Getting Started - Visiting Student

You are a visiting student if:

  • You are currently enrolled at another college or university and plan to take only a limited number of courses at OTC to transfer back to your home institution.

    or
  • You have completed a degree at another higher education institution and will not be pursuing a degree at OTC.

If you meet the visiting student criteria, please proceed to the steps listed below.  Please note that visiting students are not eligible for financial aid or the A+ Scholarship.  If you do not meet the visiting student criteria, you may click here to return to the Getting Started page.

  1. Complete an Application for Admission to OTC. You can either fill it out online, pick up an application in Student Services, print one in PDF format, or call (417) 447-6900 and request that a form be sent to you.

  2. Verification of Lawful Status. Missouri House Bill 1549 requires each student verify he or she is lawfully in the United States before enrolling in classes.  Click here for a list of approved documentation.

  3. Complete Orientation. All new OTC students are required to complete orientation prior to enrolling in classes. To begin the orientation, see the Online Orientation page.

  4. Register for Classes. Spring registration for visiting students will begin November 19.  Send an email to vistingstudent@otc.eduPlease include your first and last name, the last 4 digits of your social security number and the classes you wish to enroll at OTC.  Upon receipt of your email, you will be provided with registration instructions.

  5. Make Tuition Payment Arrangements. By registering for classes, each student accepts responsibility for payment of all tuition and fees.  Full payments can be made online through the AccessOTC tab in MyOTC; select Student Access Menu.  For a complete list of deadline dates, click here.
  6. Option #1 - Pay tuition and fees in full. This can be done through the AccessOTC tab in MyOTC (select Student Access Menu) or at the Cashier's Office, 2nd floor, Information Commons.

    Option #2
    - Enroll with e-Cashier each semester.  This can be done AFTER you have registered in classes for the upcoming semester.  The sooner you enroll with e-Cashier, the more payment plan choices you will have.

Visiting students are not eligible for financial aid or the A+ Scholarship.

Please direct any questions to the OTC Cashier at (417) 447-4827 or e-mail cashhelp@otc.edu. e-Cashier
brochures are available in Student Services or at the OTC Cashier windows located on the 2nd floor, Information Commons building.

(optional) This is a great opportunity for you to come to campus before school starts and learn about student organizations & OTC resources, get your ID card, visit the bookstore, locate your classrooms, register your car with Safety & Security, attend information sessions and simply ask questions.
